On January 24, 2025, Star Trek fans around the world huddled down in front of their TVs to witness the first Trek movie in 9 years. Anticipation and expectations were high but by the time the credits rolled, we were left feeling sad and empty. Trying to pack what was meant to be a series into a 95 minute film couldn't be easy but, as critic Jordan Hoffman said, it would "infuriate Star Trek fans and bore everyone else". He was not wrong.
Yet, there was one spark of redemption in the film and that came in the form of Philippa Georgiou's nails - nails so good that Michelle Yeoh herself kept staring at them on camera!
With a black base and a blue/purple/red/copper magnetic shimmer, Should've Polished the Plot was inspired by those nails. Cool as a cat eye magnetic but it becomes a vixen in velvet.

application tips
Apply 2-3 medium coats, using a magnet on each layer or after the final layer. The longer you hold the magnet near your nail for a cat eye effect, the more crisp the line will be. Magnetic pigment will disperse slightly as the polish fully cures. The velvet style is particularly good with this polish.

I absolutely love this polish and it’s in my top favorites of all time. I got so many compliments while wearing it as cat eye, with many friends remarking that it looked like little galaxies on my fingers. I’m looking forward to trying out other styles. I would highly recommend this one. I loved finding all the different shades of blue, purple, and pink at different angles of light. Can’t wait to wear again.
Beautiful opaque in 2-3 coats, love the smooth application. Great colors, and finishes.
